Look out for fungus and bugs now so you don't have problems later
Now that the warm weather is coming, you can look forward to spending more time outside, the blooming of the dogwoods, bugs and fungus. Yes, fungus and bugs come with the warm weather and you should be on the look out for them in your lawn and on your trees and shrubs. If you can control these two problems early in the season, they won't become a problem later on.
Not every lawn gets fungus, but if yours does, you can easily identify it by looking for irregular color spots or patterns in your lawn. "Brown patch" and "Dollar spot" are two common, easily identifiable fungal diseases here in Georgia. A fungicide treatment is an "add-on" treatment and can be applied to your lawn along with your normal application during the warm season (April-September) so these diseases don't become a problem for you.
Spring is also a time for bugs to begin infesting your trees and shrubs. Here in Georgia, trees and shrubs are susceptible to a wide variety of insects and diseases like aphids, spider mites, lace bugs, and leaf spot. Any of these could severely damage or even kill your favorite trees and shrubs.
To get rid of these problems before they become severe and damage or kill your lawn, trees and shrubs, call your lawn care company to get an estimate for a fungicide application.
