How to Identify Frost Damage on Shrubs
It’s encouraging when the first few warm days of spring awaken your ornamental shrubs. Unfortunately, the temperature can still drop below freezing during this transitional time, killing new growth with frostbite. The top of a shrub is particularly vulnerable. If you see these leaves dying and falling off, don’t worry too much. In almost all cases, the rest of the plant is completely healthy, and beautiful new foliage will fill in those dead spots by May or June.
